How a private search actually works

Your query leaves alone.
When Seekree searches, one request goes from your device to the Brave Search API. It contains your search terms and a shared application key. No account. No user ID. No cookie. No device identifier. No location. Every Seekree user's searches arrive under that same key, so there is no way to work out which person asked what.

Your device reads the pages.
Seekree fetches the result pages directly from the web and extracts the text on your device. No intermediary service reads the page on your behalf, and no log of what you opened is created anywhere but your own phone.

The model never leaves home.
The language model runs locally on Apple's Neural Engine. Your question, the retrieved text and the answer are all processed on your device. Nothing about the conversation is transmitted, because there is no Seekree server to transmit it to.

Brave does not profile you.
Brave Search is built for anonymous querying and does not build user profiles from searches. Pairing it with an app that adds no identity of its own means the query is about as anonymous as a web search gets.
